Bryan Gentry Biography

A unique sound. Songwriting with impact. An exciting stage presence. That’s what Bryan Gentry, the Midwest’s hottest new country performer continues to deliver to the Country music scene. Bryan and his band combine the heart of rock’n’roll with the colorful melodies of country to create an unmistakable sound that his growing audiences have grown to love and appreciate.

Bryan’s love affair with music began as a small child growing up in Blue Springs, MO, a quiet suburban area east of Kansas City, Missouri where he still resides. Bryan vividly remembers being surrounded by the sounds of his grandparents’ gospel music and at an early age acquired a true fascination with the six string guitar. But what began as a childhood fascination grew into a passion for performing and inspired him to form his first rock band, called Open Range. In a short period of time, his new band graduated from parties and casual gatherings and began playing in Kansas City clubs, wedding receptions and local events.

In 1997, Bryan’s love of country music sent him to Nashville where he recorded his own CD. Since that time, Bryan has been blessed with much success. Through a battle of the bands contest sponsored by Q104 Radio Station in Kansas City, Bryan and his band had the opportunity to open at the Yalapalloza show at the Sandstone Amphitheater. Bryan suddenly found his career catapulting to a new level and his fans couldn’t seem to get enough.

Bryan has earned the opportunity to open for a number of other national acts, such as Lonestar, Deana Carter and Collin Raye, where he was generously welcomed by large numbers of country fans. In 2002, Bryan created a new band with artists that shared his motivation to play music and entertain at the highest levels. Just weeks after forming, this hot new band won the first round of The Colgate Country Showdown, a venue known to skyrocket up-and-coming stars to superstardom. They also earned the honor to open up for Yallapalooza at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater after winning a local competition. Immediately following, the band performed at Blue Springs’ Fall Fun Fest, the Kansas State Fair in Hutchinson, Kansas and Q104’s Big Racing Event at I-70 Speedway. Perhaps the biggest honor for Bryan and his band was being invited to open up for Alabama at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater during NASCAR weekend. The Bryan Gentry Band was also featured at Starlight Theater’s Halloween in the Park in Kansas City, Missouri.

Bryan and his band epitomize what audiences look for in country music: sincerity, home-grown values and a relentless commitment to giving fans quality entertainment at every show.
